Bio:

I recently retired to Woodbridge after running a busy Bowen practice for 20 years and teaching Bowen in Canberra and the surrounding NSW region.

I get great satisfaction from helping people find permanent relief from physical pain, stress, or emotional tension, and am delighted to now offer Bowen therapy one day a week at West Winds.

Bowen therapy is a very gentle yet highly effective form of bodywork which offers a holistic solution to a huge range of chronic and acute conditions.

Subtle work on muscles and tendons sends messages deep into the body, retrieving cellular memory of a preferred, relaxed, balanced way of wellbeing. Results can be remarkable, even from the first session; usually only a few sessions are needed to correct the presenting problem.

As you might expect from bodywork, Bowen is highly effective in relieving back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, knees, ankles and elbows. Perhaps less well known is the ability of Bowen to address conditions such as Asthma, Headaches and Migraine, Sciatica, Sinus, and much more.

Testimonials:

Searing sciatic pain all down my right leg made it very difficult to walk or sit comfortably. I saw Ian for an hour-long Bowen treatment. The next day I was feeling about 50% better and the following day there was no hint of pain.
Most importantly, I have never experienced any sciatica since this one Bowen treatment. (B.W).

Hi Ian, I have been meaning to contact you after my last session.  Bowen is amazing….neck was back in good shape within a day! Thank you so much. (V. B.)

I just wanted to put into writing how fantastic I feel after having just two sessions of Bowen treatment. My asthma was really bad and now I find breathing easy and coughing has reduced by approximately 95%. I am really very pleased and much relieved that the Bowen Therapy has been able to assist with my asthma to such an incredible extent. (N.S.)

For years I have suffered from strong headaches and neck pain.

After only one consultation with Ian I am a changed person. My headaches have gone and my neck pain has dissipated. I have only needed to have 2 sessions and my longstanding pain has gone and has stayed away for two months.

I have always been a sceptic of natural therapy and didn’t believe it worked, but now I am a converted believer of Bowen Therapy and its healing properties. Thank You. (A.H.)

My son now 18 years old, was born with mild right side cerebral palsy.

After 16 treatments of Bowen the length difference of his legs has changed from 4cm down to 1 cm. His scoliosis has improved beyond belief. The alignment of his right hip is incredible. I wish I had taken photographs. Thank you Bowen.

After slowly going backwards for 12 years I was about to give up with asthma, emphysema (smoke related problems). I had heard about the Bowen Technique and gave it a try – it changed my life completely. I have gone from sitting inside to walking three times a day, cut right back on my medication and sleep lying down instead of sitting up with five pillows. I can now enjoy life and get around.

I have a background of back related injuries starting with my lower back in my teens, then mid-back in my early forties. Sports massage gave really good relief but did not fix it. Recently, in my sixties I started having problems with my upper back which restricted even walking, so I decided to try Bowen.

After the first session I walked out feeling very comfortable and within a couple of months I am a different person. It is uncanny that a treatment that is totally relaxing can work this miracle for me. I now feel great with no pain, no twinges and do recommend Bowen as a treatment worth trying. (H.S.)
