Open to West Winds members to work on projects, learn new skills or skill share. We have a wide range of tools, equipment and experienced volunteers who are able to help with projects.

Do you have difficulty getting to appointments? Our volunteer drivers offer occasional transport to help you get to where you need to go in our 8-seater vehicle (small donation requested for fuel costs). Call us to discuss your needs and we’ll do our best to help.

As the cost of living continues to rise, West Winds continues to support people with emergency relief aid. This might be in the form of:
a chat
counselling
a shower
frozen meals
non-perishable food from our pantry
personal care items
supermarket voucher
fuel voucher
information or referral to other providers
If you are in need of support, we may be able to assist if you get in touch. Come in and see us if you can, or give us a call. We would love to have a cuppa and a chat so we can figure out how we can help.

You can access the gym ONLY DURING OFFICE HOURS (Mon-Thurs 9am-4pm, Fri 9am-3pm). You MUST attend the office prior to using the gym for individual use.

Private classes are available, and registered gym members may access the gym privately outside scheduled class times by appointment.

We have a well-maintained collection of books including many contemporary novels. Free use with West Winds membership.

A variety of no interest loans available to help Tasmanians on low incomes purchase essential household items and services.

Online Access Centre services include:
1 hour lessons are also available with one-on-one support on any topic in our office or in your home. Free internet access for job seekers.

The West Winds Op Shop stocks good quality children’s and adult’s clothing and household items. Come and have a browse or a chat with one of our wonderful volunteers.
Open: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday 10am – 2pm.
We accept (and appreciate) donations of quality goods. Please leave all donations at the West Winds office or the Op Shop during business hours (Mon-Thurs 9am-4pm, Fri 9am-3pm). Please don’t leave items outside of these times.
We reserve the right to refuse some donations. Please note that we do not accept books, electrical appliances or goods that are broken or unclean, as well as some large gym equipment or baby items such as car seats and prams.

A caring, learning environment for children in a licensed interactive and educational space. Our qualified, experienced staff offer fun, stimulating age appropriate activities. Bookings required. Wombats are taking care enquiries for Occasional Care spaces.
