West Winds Community Centre is part of the network of 35 Neighbourhood Houses located across Tasmania and is governed by a Board of Governance of local community members
We seek to make the world a better place to live by connecting our community. We do this by:
- Promoting belonging and community spirit
- Working to reduce social isolation
- Improving social inclusion and diversity
- Creating a welcoming, inclusive and non-discriminatory environment
- Adopting a social justice and human rights approach
- Building community capacity
- Creating supportive environments that encourage self & group development
We are supported by the Crown through the Department of Premier & Cabinet (Community Partnerships & Priorities Division) to support and coordinate local community development.
We have a team of staff, led by the Manager, and a large team of volunteers who work together to strengthen our community.
